Half-round door units are defined by a radius and a spring line, creating a sense of symmetry and balance. These units offer several functional and aesthetic benefits, including increased natural light, improved ventilation, and enhanced visibility when interacting with visitors. They also contribute distinctive architectural character, adding elegance and visual interest to the home’s entrance. To view some of SBM's Half-Round Entry Unit Designs, click HERE

Elliptical entry units are brought to life through complex geometry defined by a major axis, a minor axis, and a spring line. These elements work together to create a smooth, elongated curve that sets the ellipse apart from other arch shapes. The result is a distinctive profile with refined proportions and a graceful sense of movement, offering a unique architectural expression. Beyond their elegant appearance, Elliptical Units provide several practical benefits. They allow increased natural light, add visual height to an entryway without the full rise of a half-round, and create a sophisticated focal point that enhances curb appeal. Their balanced form complements a range of architectural styles, making them an excellent choice for homeowners seeking both beauty and function. Segment top units are defined by a radius, width, and springline, creating a subtle, graceful arch, ideal when only a slight curve is desired. Clean lines add architectural interest while maintaining balance. Benefits include compatibility with rectangular openings, versatility across architectural styles, and enhanced curb appeal without overwhelming the façade. When conditions are ideal, welcome fresh air into your home with our operating sash doors. The top sash can incorporate glass, panels, or screen, and each door is custom-built to your exact specifications. An integrated screen within the exterior Sea Island–style moulding helps keep insects out, while weather seals—consistent with those used in our inswing casement windows—ensure dependable performance. For added durability, the sash can be secured with surface bolts to withstand demanding weather conditions. For greater flexibility and privacy, an interior operating panel shutter can be added to cover the glass opening. Alternatively, hinged panel shutters, custom-tailored to your specifications, overlay the glass from the exterior stiles and secure with a side bolt. These 1″-thick shutters feature 3/4″ raised panels on the exterior face to match the door, with a flat interior surface that closes securely against the glass.

Dutch doors are divided horizontally into two independent sections, allowing the top and bottom halves to operate separately. This timeless design provides exceptional versatility—open the upper leaf to welcome fresh air and natural light while keeping the lower section closed for privacy, security, or to contain pets and children. Originally popularized in early American and European homes, Dutch doors remain a beloved feature in coastal cottages, historic residences, and refined country homes. Our Dutch doors combine traditional craftsmanship with modern weathersealing and precision joinery, ensuring dependable performance while preserving their distinctive charm.

We manufacture louver doors in a wide range of configurations, including venting or closed, movable or fixed designs. Louvers can be combined with glass or panels and arranged in virtually any layout to suit your design requirements. The primary detail that defines the appearance of a louver door is slat spacing. Our most popular configuration features 3/8" thick slats spaced 1 3/4" on center. Slats are available with either radiused or square edges. To view some of our Louver Door designs, click HERE

Panel doors are constructed with individual wood panels set within a framework of stiles and rails, creating depth, strength, and timeless architectural detail. This method allows the panels to move naturally with the wood, supporting long-term performance and durability. Offered in a range of raised and flat panel designs, panel doors provide versatile styling that complements both traditional and modern homes.
